alphaXRT was founded in 1990 by our managing director, Richard Neale. Richard saw an opportunity to introduce exciting new radiation oncology technologies into Australia and New Zealand, giving local clinicians access to the world’s most innovative solutions.
The 1990s saw a number of key milestones take place as the company flourished, from the first 3D Radiotherapy Treatment Planning system sold into Australasia, through to completion of the world’s first ion-beam transport device using HTS coils, and being awarded the contract for design and manufacture of beam-line magnets for a particle accelerator used for production of radioisotopes in America.
alphaXRT has been recognised 19 times since 2000 for their excellence and as an International Distributor of the Year by Accuray, SunNuclear, CIVCO and Vertual, alongside securing multi-million dollar contracts with the Australian Synchrotron, and an exclusive distribution agreement to represent Accuray CyberKnife, TomoTherapy and Radixact systems in Australasia.
